Bryn Derwen Guest House,Conwy, forms part of a spacious semi-detached house built in the late Victorian period. It is set well back from the roadway on rising ground and enjoys a commanding position with good views.

It is ideally situated just a short walk (800m) from the medieval walled town of Conwy, a World Heritage Site, with easy access to local attractions and public transport services.

The North Wales coastal resorts, including the Isle of Anglesey, are readily accessible, as is the Snowdonia National Park with its magnificent mountain and lake scenery. Comfortable, well-appointed accommodation is complemented by an excellent breakfast.

Bryn Derwen has six recently renovated en-suite bedrooms, each individually furnished and decorated to a high standard and graded 3 stars by Visit Wales.

There are three double rooms, two twin rooms, one family room (containing a double bed and single bed). Twin and double rooms can be used for single occupancy


The large, light and airy dining room provides separate tables for served full cooked breakfast over looking the garden and mountains beyond.

Driving to Bryn Derwen

Exit the A55 at junction 17 east bound or junction 18 west bound, follow signs for Conwy
At Conwy Castle turn left onto Llanrwst Road (B5106) signed for Trefriw, proceed under the arch and follow the road for approximately half a mile, Bryn Derwen will be seen on the left hand side with off road parking at the front. The driveway to our car park is adjacent to the neighbouring property

Walking from Lancaster Square, Conwy

Walk towards the traffic on the right hand pavement, passing the bus stop, the Malt Loaf public House, Conwy Visitor Centre, three cottages and proceed through the archway down the steps and through a pedestrian tunnel into a large public car park. Walk for approximately 500m following the stream, passing Porth-y-Felin School and Bryn Derwen will be seen on the left hand side of the road. Walking time is about 8 minutes

Arriving by train at Conwy station:-

If coming from Chester, step off the train and turn left, walk through a gateway and turn left through an arch, down a tree lined drive and into a large public car park (Twr Llewelyn). Walk across the car park, onto the pavement and turn right. Walk for approximately 500m following the stream, passing Porth-y-Felin School and Bryn Derwen will be seen on the left hand side of the road. Walking time is about 5 minutes

If coming from Holyhead, step off the train and walk across the car park towards the town (and the Malt Loaf public house). Turn right, passing Conwy Visitor Centre, three cottages and proceed through the archway, down the steps and through the pedestrian tunnel into a large public car park. Walk across the car park onto the pavement and turn right. Set in an elevated position, access from roadway via sloping garden path with highlighted nosings on the steps and a handrail which are well illuminated at night
Private car park at the rear, accessed via a steep drive, steps withh highlighted nosings, a handrail and lights leading to the front door
The dining room is on the ground floor which is well lit and airy
The three storey building has two bedrooms on the first floor and four bedrooms on the second floor. No lifts
The bedrooms have remote controlled LCD televisions, some with DVD, radio alarm clocks, cordless, kettles, hair dryers and complimentary toiletries
There are wide, shallow stairs to the first floor (20) and a steeper set of stairs (16) to the second floor
The well lit public areas have good colour contrast to floors and walls
Assistance with luggage available
