If it is high quality bed and breakfast accommodation in a beautiful Victorian house with large sunny gardens and genuine medieval history in the back yard, then Bryn is what you are looking for. The location is stunning, bordered on one side by the historic medieval towers and town walls of Conwy, overlooking Conwy castle and the Conwy estuary in one direction and the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park in the other.
Bryn has private parking which is invaluable in Conwy and for visitors who chose public transport, the house is located a short walk from the railway station and bus stops making it ideally placed for exploring not only Conwy but the whole of North Wales.
Bryn has four well appointed bedrooms, each with its own character. All are large and enjoy views either of the castle, town walls and gardens or the mountains of Snowdonia. The house was originally built in 1864 with the sun and views in mind. Three rooms are en-suite and the fourth has an adjacent large private bathroom with amazing views towards the river and the castle. Attention to detail is very important to me, all rooms have as you would expect TV, tea and coffee facilities, as well as luxury toiletries and many other little extras. In fact all you probably need to bring is your toothbrush and a change of clothes.
Drying facilities for walkers, secure cycle storage and packed lunches are available.
Bryn has 4 bedrooms, 1 ground floor double en-suite room is the smallest [some mobility is required for this room [website link to access statement]. It has views of the medieval towers, town walls and gardens.
On the first floor there are 2 large double en-suite rooms, one with wonderful views of the garden, castle, towers and town walls and the other with views of the mountains of Snowdonia.
The fourth room is double aspect and has exclusive use of a private bathroom immediately next door. It has both a double and a single bed and can be used either as a single, double, twin or triple. [Website link for more information]. The views from this room are the best in the house as it was originally used as the drawing room.
Visitor numbers are restricted to a maximum of 9 to ensure a quiet ambience.
The breakfast room is gloriously sunny and airy with beautiful views of the garden, estuary, historic medieval town walls and towers and the mountains of Snowdonia.
My version of a Full Welsh Breakfast is as locally sourced, organic and fairly traded as possible with meat products from Conwys award winning butcher, Edwards. Home made bread, muesli and Welshcakes are usually available along with delicious fresh fruits and 100% fruit juices.
Special diets are catered for rather than accommodated as I am coeliac [celiac] and follow a very strict gluten free diet so I do try to offer the same choices to guests with special diets as other guests.
Vegetarian and vegans can be assured that their food is cooked quite separately from meat products. Soya, rice and oat milk and sunflower spread are usually available without notice.
Conwy has a variety of pubs and restaurants for evening meals. Many of these are happy to cater for vegetarians or modify their menus for guests needing special diets and there is something to suit all budgets.
North Wales is a truly wonderful location and it is sad that so much of it is overlooked by many. To help you make the most of your visit, Bryn has a collection of walking books, ordnance survey maps, large scale road maps and general information books which guests are welcome to borrow. Each room has bus and train timetables and I am happy to advise on or talk through possible day trips sometimes to places which may not always be listed in the Guidebooks.
Credit card details and a mailing address are required for all reservations.
Cancellation can be made up to the 12 midday on the day of arrival.
Cards may be charged for the full cost of the 1st nights stay after that time.
